I read books, I write about books, I would probably marry a book if I could find one who liked me enough. Three words to describe me mature, irresponsible, contradictory, unreliable...oh...that's four...
Report here that Martin Amis' London Fields has been greenlighted as a movie.
The cast is interesting - Billy Bob Thornton playing the writer-narrator and Amber Heard as the manipulative Nicole. When Amis is good, he's very good, but London Fields was a big miss for me, probably because of that word 'manipulative'. I'm tired of books where the plot hinges on women behaving like Catherine deMedici with PMS.
I mean, women can be evil, but can't we just be evil by smacking someone in the chops, man-style?
Anyway, it might make a good movie...any opinions?
